NORWOOD - Services for Susan S. Richards, 77, a resident of 1542 River Road, Norwood, per her wishes, will be held privately for the family. Susan passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, April 26, 2026 at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center with her family at her side. Susan is survived by a son, Robert "Bob" Richardson, (Misty) Norwood, her daughter, Michelle Richards Norwood; her three beloved grandchildren, Brandon Richards, Mykalyn LaDuke and Madalyn Richardson. Sue is also survived by a brother, Allan Spoor, Millers Tavern, VA, two sisters, Carol Lippolis, Ontario, NY, and Beverly Wilson Cornwall, Canada, as well as several nieces and nephews. Susan was pre-deceased by her parents and a son, James "Jim" Richardson.
Born in Massena, NY on December 26, 1948 to the late Harvey and Harriett Magoon Spoor, Sue graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1966. She was previously married to James Richardson and Jeff Richards which both ended in divorce. Sue worked for the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department as a keyboard specialist for many years until her retirement.? In her spare time, Sue enjoyed cooking, taking an occasional trip to the casino, watching the Hallmark Channel and watching her grandchildren play sports. However, Sue found her most enjoyment was from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren? and drinking a Pepsi.
