NORFOLK - Private services for James A. Grant, 69, a resident of 1737 St. Highway 420, Massena, will be held at a later date. James passed away at his home on Saturday, March 21, 2026. James is survived by his three sons, James (Lori), Matthew (Jess) and Daniel (Dayle) Grant, all of Norwood; his two step-children, Melissa and Nathan Carr; two brothers, Kevin Grant (Robyn), Potsdam and Scott Grant, Massena and a sister, Vikie and Scott Jones, Plattsburgh. Jim was pre-deceased by his parents Alexander and Sue, his wife Cindy and a brother, Craig Grant.

Born in Potsdam, NY on January 20, 1957 to the late Alexander and Sue A. Kennedy Grant, James graduated from Potsdam Central School, Class of 1976. He was a proud volunteer fireman as he served with the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department where he once served as Chief. He married Cindy Deno on January 12, 1998. He worked at Potsdam Central School as a bus driver for several years. In his free time, James enjoyed model trains.
