SOUTH COLTON – Graveside services for Elizabeth N. "Liz" Farrell, 80, a resident of the Essex Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Elizabethtown, NY and formerly of South Colton, will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the Stark Cemetery, South Colton. Liz passed away Saturday evening, October 11, 2025 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburg. Liz is survived by her two sons, Lawrence, FL and Randy, Ogdensburg as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Liz was pre-deceased by her parents Lawrence and Eleanor and her husband Chuck, on January 5, 2024.
Born in Geneva, NY on September 27, 1945 to the late Lawrence and Eleanor Nicolson Free, Liz attended school and married Charles E. "Chuck" Farrell in October of 1961. Liz worked for the North Country Savings Bank for over 25 years, working both in Ogdensburg and Canton, NY. Liz was an avid outdoorswoman as she enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling and feeding and watching deer. Liz, along with her late husband Chuck, were active members with the Barney Pond Hunting Club and later, the Diamond Sportsman Club in South Colton. Chuck and Elizabeth were inseparable, as they did everything together and enjoyed time spent with family, friends and club members.
