NORWOOD -- Funeral services for Terry L. "Tugger" Steinburg, 78, a resident of 16 Bicknell Street, Norwood, will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Deacon John Levison presiding. Burial will be held in the Calvary Cemetery, Norwood following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Terry passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, August 10, 2025 at his home. Terry is survived by several extended family members, some of which include Terry Halpern in Norfolk and Thomas Steinburg in Norwood. Tugger is pre-deceased by his parents and his only sibling, his brother, Larry Steinburg, just two months ago.
Born in Potsdam, NY on May 21, 1947 to the late Clayton and Margaret Matthews Steinburg, Terry graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1965 and SUNY Potsdam in 1973 with a Bachelor Degree of Arts. Following school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, serving under General Westmoreland's staff in Washington, DC. Terry worked for many years as the supervisor for the Shipping and Receiving Department at the Massena Memorial Hospital and previously worked as an accountant for the Lisbon School District. In his spare time, Terry enjoyed socializing with his family and friends and was an avid sports fan. He loved watching all sports, especially baseball, softball and Syracuse University Basketball. He was an active and respected Umpire for girls softball and a member of the Norfolk American Legion. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
