COLTON – Funeral services for Marshall L. Wright, 72, a resident of 145 St. Highway 68, Colton, will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 3:00 pm? at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery immediately following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Tuesday, July 22 from 12:00-3:00. Mr. Wright passed away suddenly on Wednesday evening, July 16, 2025 at his home.

Marshall is survived by his wife of 46 years, Laurie, Colton; his daughter Lezlie and Kevin Gray, Colton; two beloved grandchildren, Vaughn and Sylvie Gray; his father, Arnold Wright, Potsdam; a brother, Timothy Wright, Potsdam and a sister, Nancy and John Bushaw, Canton as well as several nieces, nephews and lots of friends. Marshall was pre-deceased by his mother and a son, Matthew Wright.

Born in Potsdam, NY on June 12, 1953 to Arnold F. and the late Elizabeth G. "Betty" Butterfield Wright, Marshall graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School, Class of 1972 and married Laurie Bradley on April 14, 1979. Marshall worked at the Newton Falls Paper Mill for 28 years until the mill closed, and later worked at the Colton-Pierrepont Central School driving school bus for 17 years. In Marshall's free time he loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed working in his woodshop and puttering around the house, and most recently found a love of beekeeping. Marshall's most enjoyment however, came from spending time with his family and friends, especially Lezlie and the kids. He cherished the time spent with them.
