NORWOOD - Services for John A. Vari Sr., 63, who passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident on July 6, 2025, in Norfolk, will be held privately for the family. John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon, of Norwood; a son, John Vari Jr., of Austin, TX; and his three beloved grandchildren: Kylee, Kole, and Kayde. He is also survived by four siblings: Vincent Vari, Joseph Vari, Paula Morgan, and Peggy Cooley. He was predeceased by his daughter, Miranda Vari, in 2020, and a sister, Tammy.


Born in Potsdam, NY, on March 19, 1962, to the late Joseph and Jean Ashley Vari, John married Sharon L. Daggett on October 7, 1989. John worked at several places throughout his life, spending many years with William Stone Construction in Norwood. Most recently, he was doing landscaping work for TJ Fiacco Construction. He loved being and working outside, puttering around, tinkering, and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and was the loudest and proudest supporter of his children and grandchildren. Memorial donations in John's memory can be sent to the Buck Funeral Home to support the Miranda Vari Norwood-Norfolk Youth Basketball Scholarship that was established at the time of Miranda's passing.
