NORFOLK – A Mass of Christian Burial for Jean A. Myers, 87, a resident Hepburn Street, Norfolk, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Church of the Visitation with Rev. Raymond Moreau presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Following the services, there will be a luncheon at the Norwood American Legion. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Jean passed away early Sunday evening, May 25, 2025 at the North Country Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Massena after a brief stay.
Jean is survived by her four children, Deborah Cotter, Norfolk; Joseph and Jenny Myers Jr., Parishville; Steven Myers, Norfolk; Robert "Bob" and Betsy Myers, Norwood; her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Myers and his fiancé Becca Woods; Colin and Kassidy Myers; Cheyenne and Donavan Patraw; Kayla and Tim Guyette; Ty Cotter and his companion Hannah Zenger; Emily Myers and her companion Mickial Szarka; Sarah Darabon; Natalie Darabon and her companion Dan Colbert; her eight great-grandchildren, Bodey, Gavin, Maycee, Kash, Jameson, Grant, Noah and Myles. Jean is also survived by a brother, John and Lorretta Babcock and two sisters, Mary and Rick Magnusson, and Claire and Vince Regan, as well as her nieces and nephews. Jean was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Joe on November 12, 2022, a son-in-law, Stephen Cotter and a grandson, Jacob "Jake" Ladouceur.
Born in Potsdam, NY on February 12, 1938 to the late Winford and Margaret Murphy Babcock, Jean graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1957. She married Joseph E. Myers on August 27, 1960 and together they raised their four children. Jean was a devoted homemaker and worked at the Norfolk Elementary and the Norwood-Norfolk Central School as a hall monitor and helping with the children on the playground.
