NORFOLK – Funeral services for Gerald W. Dodson, 63, a resident of 1065 County Rt. 38, Norfolk, will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 4 p.m. at the Knapps Station Community Church with Pastor John Youngblood presiding. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date to be announced as well. Mr. Dodson passed away early Wednesday morning at his home with family at his side.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Tammy, Norfolk; his three sons, Nathiel Dodson, Potsdam; Christopher Dodson and his fiance' Chantal Forrest, Massena; Corey and Alycia Dodson, Ennis, TX; his daughter, Janelle and Vincent Martin, Norwood; his ten beloved grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond and Judy Dodson, Midway, TX; Robert Dodson, Waxahachie, TX and a sister, Sharon "Tonka" Sutton, Ennis, TX as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family members. Gerald was pre-deceased by his parents, three brothers, Harold, Willie and Jimmy Ray.

Born in Ennis, TX on December 15, 1961 to the late Willie R. Dodson and Rose Marie Campbell, Gerald attended High School in Texas and later graduated in the top ten of his class from Aviation Mechanical School in Utica, NY. He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard as a tank mechanic. Most recently, Gerald was employed at Seaway Timber in Massena as a truck driver. Most notably, Gerald was a proud and accomplished musician and songwriter. He has many published pieces of music. In his spare time, Gerald loved to play and write music, he enjoyed taking motorcycle rides and in his earlier years, he was a bull rider.
