RAYMONDVILLE-- Funeral services for 88 year old Ray Watson, a resident of Liverpool, NY and formerly of Ocala, FL , Raymondville and Madrid, will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 12 noon at the United Methodist Church in Raymondville with Judy VanKennen presiding. Burial will follow the services in the Madrid Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 10-11:30 a.m. Mr. Watson passed away Thursday morning, January 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in Liverpool, NY. Ray and his late wife had resided in Ocala, FL for the last 25 years. Born on March 2, 1929 in Ogdensburg, NY to the late John Wesley and Dorothy Blanche Wylie Watson, Ray graduated from Madrid High School and went on to work for the family owned business Watson Chevrolet in Madrid before entering the IBEW apprenticeship program to become a journeyman electrician. After moving to Raymondville from Ogdensburg, he was employed by ALCOA, worked construction for Shelly Electric and then was employed by the N.Y. Power Authority in Massena, from which he retired. Ray married Wilma L. Wagner on August 20, 1949 in the Presbyterian Church in Chipman. They were married for 66 years, as Wilma pre-deceased Ray on June 12, 2016. Ray is survived by his daughter, Cynthia and Mark Gleason, Syracuse; his son, Robert and Ann Watson, Norwood; six grandchildren, Amy Quarshie, Melissa Stocking, Lori Dore`, Jennifer LaShomb, Robert Watson Jr. and Kelly Watson; four great-granddaughters, Brogan Dore`, Riley Sullivan, Peyton Sullivan and Raegan Allen; a sister, Shirley Burwell as well as several nieces and nephews. Ray enjoyed playing golf, gardening, dancing, playing cards, solving crossword puzzles, woodworking and was an artisan of stained glass. Ray was a past member of the Masons and the Norfolk Lions Club.
