PARISHVILLE— There will be no services at this time for 83 year old Thais L. Martin, a resident of 9 Watkins Drive, Parishville, who passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at her home with family at her side. A private service for Thais and her late husband, Orrin, who just passed away 3 weeks prior on September 18, 2017, will be held at a later date. Thais is survived by a son, David and Charlene Martin, Parishville; two daughters, Marjorie Goldsmith, Manchester, NH; Irene Martin, Parishville; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother, Alan and Brenda James, Virginia. Thais was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband and a brother, Floyd D. "Jimmy" James.
Born in Massena, NY on May 24, 1934 to the late Floyd G. and Ruby A. Stata James, she graduated from high school and attended college. Thais worked at Carter's Candy factory in Boston, Massachusetts for several years as well being a domestic engineer. She married Orrin Martin on November 3, 1952. Thais was a past member of the Parishville ATV Club and the Weller Mountain Club. She enjoyed going four wheeling with her husband and working on the trails.
