NORWOOD—Calling Hours for 84 year old Dean A. Murray, a resident of 3 McKinley Street, Norwood, will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 from 3-6 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. Mr. Murray passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at his home unexpectedly. Dean is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary, Norwood; his six children, Robert and Bonnie Murray, Lynn and Terry Fefee, Kenneth and Rebecca Murray, Kathy French, Janice and David Babcock, all of Norwood and Timothy and Eileen Murray, Oneonta, NY; his 15 beloved grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and his sister, Jean Pelletier, Hannawa Falls as well as several nieces and nephews. Dean was pre-deceased by his five brothers Donald, Reginald, Douglas, Rodney and Russell. Born in Norwood on June 14, 1932 to the late Earl and Gertrude Henderson Murray, Dean married Mary T. O'Brien on June 14, 1952. He was employed with ALCOA in Massena for 36 years, retiring in 1988 in the Plant Protection Department. Dean loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing and was also an avid sports fan, rooting for the Dodgers, Celtics and NY Giants faithfully. He also enjoyed going camping and doing daily crossword puzzles. Dean was a member of the Masonic What Cheer Lodge, the ALCOA 25 year Club and a Honorary and Lifetime Member of the St. Regis Club in Santa Clara. Dean was also fond of Johnny Cash and Jim Reeves and loved his dog, "Callie".
