Obituary of Stanley P. Tarbox

PIERREPONT—A Mass of Christian Burial for 60 year old Stanley P. Tarbox, a resident of 432 Butternut Ridge Road, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at St. Patrick's Church in Colton with Rev. Stephen Rocker presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Colton following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Mr. Tarbox passed away tragically Friday afternoon at his home. Stanley is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth; Pierrepont; his mother, Barbara Tarbox, Texas; two sons, Peter Tarbox, Norwood; Ryan Miner and his companion Jessica Newtown, Potsdam; two daughters, April and Peter Blair Jr., Stafford, VA; Jessica Miner, Sarasota, FL; a step—daughter, Audra Shafer, Rochester; his eight grandchildren, Michelle, Titus, Alexandria, Hayleigh, Adrianna, Lilianna, Madysin and Gabreyela. Stanley is also survived by his six siblings, Nancy Tarbox, San Antonia, Texas; Katie and Donald Charleston, Pierrepont; Virginia Clough, Pierrepont; Philip Tarbox, Plattsburgh; Bruce and Stacey Tarbox, Pierrepont; Paul Tarbox, San Antonia, Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his special uncle and aunts, Jewett and Mable Tarbox and Gladys Hastings and a special young person, David Parker, who was a big part of Stanley's life. Stanley was pre-deceased by his father and a sister, Jewina "Wendy" Cota. Born in Tupper Lake, NY on December 6, 1955 to Leon and Barbara Russell Tarbox, Stanley loved the outdoors. He married Elizabeth A. Fuller on April 19, 1986. He worked in the logging industry for years, working with Randy Lalonde in Tupper Lake and then later for Potsdam Hardwoods as a Certified Lumber Inspector. He was an avid bowler, enjoying the Wednesday Night Industrial Bowling League, as well as hunting, fishing, making Maple Syrup and just being in the outdoors. Stanley also liked to travel and cook.
