Dorothy is survived by her husband of 73 years Gordon, Massena; her two sons, Johnnie and Laura Arquette, FL.; Denis and Kathy Arquette, CO; her two daughters, Polly Searles, Raymondville and Judy and Michael Brassard, Potsdam; her 10 grandchildren, Scott, Heather, Clifford, Rona, Christine, John Michael, Stephanie, Karin, Vanessa and Ethan; 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several step-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her brothers, Gaylord, Allan, Darrell, Roy and William Baxter and her sisters Doris Brothers, Irene Smith and Ruth Roach. Born on May 3, 1924 to the late Delbert and Leora Nichols Baxter, she married Gordon J. Arquette on November 14, 1942 at the Brookdale Parsonage with Rev. Reginald Hewitt presiding. She started her career working at ALCOA in Massena and then went on to work a SUNY Potsdam as a custodian for many years, while all the time she was farming at home. She was a member of the Norfolk Wesleyan Church and Dorothy enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Dorothy found her true enjoyment came with spending time with her family and friends that she made throughout her many years in the community and lately, at the Highland Home in Massena. She was very proud that she authored two books entitled "Thoughts of Long Ago" and "Beyond Trails End". Memorial donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one's choice.
