Obituary of Theresa Mae Lindsey

NORFOLK - A Mass of Christian Burial for 70 year old Theresa Mae Lindsey, a resident of 269 Adams Road, Norfolk, will be held Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Lindsey passed away Wednesday evening at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Theresa is survived by her brother Richard and Sylvia Davey, Oswegatchie; her four sisters, Rita West-King and her husband Lloyd King, Alice King, Mary Olmstead and Margaret and Alan Woodall, all of Norfolk as well as several nieces and nephews. Theresa is pre-deceased her late husband David J. Lindsey, Jr., her parents John & Myrtle Davey and three brothers, Paul, Carl & John Davey. Theresa Mae Lindsey was born December 20, 1945 in Potsdam, NY to the late John R. and Myrtle G. Babbitt Davey. She graduated from Clifton-Fine Central School and attended the Joseph Bulovia School of watchmaking where she met her future husband, David J. Lindsey, Jr. David and Theresa were married in April of 1975 at the Chapel-Of-The-Sea in Middletown, Rhode Island where she resided until David's death in February of 1985. Upon David's death, Theresa returned home and attended Mater Dei College where she earned an Associate's Degree in Psychology. On May 14, 1997 she was commissioned a lay minister in the area of Evangelization and Outreach by the Diocese of Ogdensburg. She served many individuals in the Clinton County area as a Home Health Care Aid while working and residing at Our Lady of the Adirondack's House of Prayer in Ellenburg Center. She returned to the Norfolk Area upon her retirement in 2011. Theresa enjoyed all outdoor activities especially camping and her hobbies were making stained glass pieces, drawing and painting.
