MADRID—Calling hours for 68 year old Roger I. Mattice, a resident of 171 Pearson Road, Madrid, will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood on Saturday at 9 a.m. Mr. Mattice passed away on Saturday at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Roger is survived by his lifelong companion, Vicky Harper, Madrid; three sons, Edward Mattice, Holmesdale, PA; Patrick "PJ" and his companion Missy Weekes, Madrid; Victor and Ellen Mattice, Newport, NC; his three daughters, Charlotte Mattice, Monticello, NY; Jody Miller and her companion Sean Beaudoin, Colchester, VT; Macenzie and Stephen Curran, Waddington; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, David and Donna Mattice, Morley; Doug Mattice, Parishville; a sister-in-law, Betty Mattice, Morristown as well as several nieces and nephews. Roger was pre-deceased by his parents and a brother, George Mattice. Born on August 27, 1948 to the late Vernon and Martha Babbit Mattice, Roger was a self-employed contractor. He was a past member and chief of the East Branch Fire Department and enjoyed fishing and mowing the lawn. His true enjoyment came from spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play in sporting events. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
